Ntando Duma opened up about the memories she has of her father and how he influenced some of her life choices.

The actress was the latest celebrity guest on the L-Tido Podcast on 20 August 2025. Having recently welcomed her newborn in secret, she spoke candidly about her life, career and her family dynamics.

Ntando was raised by her mother and grandmother, alongside her sisters, and she revealed that her father was absent from her life:

"I didn't have my dad. The last time I heard about my dad was when I was three years old."

The actress went on to share a spine-chilling story about when her father, who was a chronic alcoholic, nearly burned their family alive:

"The memory I have of my dad was when he burned us inside a shack while we were sleeping. He was an abusive person; he would beat up my mom, and when we'd cry, he would beat us too."

She went on to reveal that her father's alcoholism is the reason she has never consumed alcohol in her life. Her story will feature in her upcoming memoir, which is set to be released soon.
