To celebrate her birthday, a local woman in Pretoria plugged South Africans with a café that not only offers delicious sweet treats but also the experience to craft their own cake.

TikTok user Sibahle Gumede uploaded a video on her account to inform app users about Leona's Cakery in Hazelwood.

Leona's Cakery, established in 2020, shared with Briefly News that the owner turned her passion for art into creating beautiful cake designs.

She said in her video:

"For only R260, you get to design yourself a cake. If you feel like celebrating yourself, spoiling yourself, or even going out on a girls' date, this place is a place to go to."

She shared that upon arriving at the establishment, she was given a 12cm cake as well as the option to choose four colours of icing.

Sibahle, who is a conservationist by profession, chose lilac icing to cover her cake, as it matched her gorgeous dress.

"Designing the cake was a bit of a challenge, but I enjoyed it so much. It was so therapeutic."

Woman shares cake-designing experience

Briefly News contacted Sibahle, who shared her experience at Leona's Cakery:

"Fortunately for me, I already had an idea because I'm a home baker. I was blown away by the place's decorations. It was so vibrant and colourful in pink and purple. It had so many areas to capture the perfect picture.

"I was given enough tools and needed a candle, which I was able to buy for R10."

Sibahle noted that the best part for her was biting into the cake.

"I did this on a Friday and was able to keep half of the cake for my kids, who ate it on a Sunday. It was still fresh and tasty."

Leona's Cakery intrigues South Africans

A few local members of the online community took to the comment section in awe and wonder, sharing how they wished to visit Leona's Cakery and experience the same type of service outside of Pretoria. Other social media users thanked the woman for the plug.

@anushkabeauty2025 told the mini content creator:
