Flavio Silva: Kaizer Chiefs Star Receives First Call Up for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

Kaizer Chiefs' new signing Flavio Silva has earned his first international call-up ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.

Silva joined Kaizer Chiefs on a free transfer in the summer from Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia, but he is yet to make his debut for the Glamour Boys this season.

The 29-year-old is expected to be part of Nasreddine Nabi's squad that would face Mamelodi Sundowns in their midweek fixture in the Betway Premiership.

Silva earns first call-up with Guinea-Bissau

The new Kaizer Chiefs striker has been included in Guinea-Bissau's preliminary squad for their forthcoming World Cup qualifiers next month.

Guinea-Bissau will face Sierra Leone and Djibouti, and they are currently fifth in Group A with six points, two behind the latter and five points ahead of the former.

Silva was included in Emiliano Te’s 40-man preliminary squad for both games, and if he makes the final cut, he will get to play for Guinea-Bissau for the first time.

Djurtus will host Sierra Leone on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Bissau, while they will also play host against Djibouti four days later.
